In politics, the economic news is always exaggerated according to how it will benefit a particular political party. Lately, it’s not hard to find real news of economic woes. The bright side is that E-Commerce continues to be what analysts and policy-makers are looking to as a potential saving-grace. As Jonathan Willis, of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City points out “between 1999 and 2002, e-commerce grew 29 percent annually, while non-commerce grew only 4 percent annually.” Verisign also reported 2007 internet holiday sales were up 25% over 2006. So, If you’re in e-commerce, the current economic news doesn’t need to sound so grim.
During tough times, it’s that much more important to market yourself. If fewer dollars are being spent, it’s up to you to reach out and grab what is available. It’s smart to be cautious but don’t let the bad news scare you as much as it should motivate you to create every advantage you can over the competition.
If it’s survival of the fittest, be sure you’re in shape!
